Our Story

We met while attending separate colleges in 1990, at a college group outing with Second Baptist Church in Springfield. We talked, laughed, discovered that her best friend was rooming with one of my best friends from high school, and just clicked. We talked on the phone that night for nearly three hours and by the end of the call had three dates already planned and our first two children named. (Chris and some girl name that we never used...)  You might say it was love at first sight, but I just know it was meant to be.

We married June 6, 1992 between my junior and senior years in college. By the time I graduated, Chris was already on the way! We moved to St. Louis where I started working for SBC. Brian followed Chris 20 months later, then Emily surprised us by showing up 10 1/2 months after Brian. Elizabeth (Libby) came a couple of years after that, and our family was complete. No one could ask for a better, more exciting family than ours.

Through the years, we have laughed, cried, prayed, and loved together. I love the closeness and tenderness that our close-knit family has, even when we're not on the same schedule or interested in the same activities. As we push each fledgling out of the nest and into the rarified air of college, I am confident that each will soar higher and farther than we could ever dream possible.
